Department of catering equipment was established in 1969 at the Institute of catering by Mikhail Belyaev , who was its first head. Whole history of the department is related with name of M. Belyaev.
Since the inception of the department, professor M. Belyaev was constantly striving for its development. It is reflected in the preparation of a forceful and professional personnel and scientific potential as well as in the improving the material and technical base of department`s laboratories.
On the basis of the foregoing, in October 2013 department applied to academic council of the University to rename the title of department of catering equipment into department of the food and hotel industry equipment of M.I. Belyaev. Academic council of University satisfied the motion to validate proposed name of department.
Staff of the department is working in all directions provided by the Law of Ukraine ” About higher education”, University Statute, the Regulation “About organization of educational process in credit-modular system of training of specialists (KMSONP)”developed by educational and methodical administration of HDUHT, orders of the rector, administration instructions, decisions of the academic council, council of the faculty of equipment and technical services and scientific-methodical commission of the faculty.
Department of the food and hotel industry equipment of M.I. Belyaev is a graduating department of the Faculty of equipment and technical services, that prepares specialists of different levels (bachelors, masters) within the specialty “Processing and Food Production equipment “. Besides some disciplines are taught by professors of the department to the students enrolled in other specialties in the science-educational institute of food technology and business, commodity science, accounting and financial, economics, management faculties, high school of entrepreneurship of HDUHT and in separate units in Dnepropetrovsk.
Staff of the department continues today all main scientific, pedagogical and educational activities, launched by its founder and first head Mikhail Belyaev, as well as international cooperation on all continents, consolidates connections with modern productions, introduces modern technologies of the educational process, provides constant search for new areas of development and cooperation .
The staff carry out different scientific and research work, scientific and technical activity within the directions of developpement of modern equipment of restaurant and hotel industry, trade, food production, technical means of customs control, intellectual property and so on.
